It's a big year for Oscar Pistorius, who is aiming to become the first amputee sprinter to compete in an Olympic Games this summer. Last year he won an IAAF World Championships track medal thanks to his role in the South African silver-medal winning 4×400-metre relay team in South Korea, and is now attempting to qualify for the South African Olympic team for 2012, as well as participating in this summer's Paralympic Games.

Known for his carbon-fibre blades that have earned him the nickname "Blade Runner", Pistorius was cleared by the Court of Arbitration for Sport to run in International Association of Athletics Federations events - including the Olympics - in May 2008. Having fought his way back from a boat accident in 2009 that left him with serious injuries, he is a keen ambassador for his sport and seen widely as a role model for disabled athletes.

He'll be joining us between 12pm and 1pm GMT on Thursday 9th February. Please post your questions for him in the comment section below.

Oscar Pistorius is a BT Ambassador. BT is the official communications services partner of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
